During the third quarter so far, I have been working on a project I like to call Disney and
Pixar Collage. This is where I draw, paint, sketch, etc. and put the artwork into one big collage. So far I have made gesture drawings. First I used pencil to make scribble lines that made the outline of the characters that I decided to draw. Then I tried to create more gesture drawings with the multiple other characters that I chose. Once I was confident in my gesture drawings, I started to draw one of the characters without gesture drawing. At first I was going to paint Dori in the water but then I changed my mind and ended up drawing a sketch of Pascal from the movie, Tangled, Next I had my teacher, Mrs. Bailey hold it up to see what I thought about it. Then I added a few things to make it look better. I chose to make this because Pascal is one of my favorite little cartoon animals from the movies I have watched so far. It was challenging for me because I was using a new type of paper and I never tied to draw and type of Disney or Pixar characters before. I learned something knew. I learned how to use value in my drawings. I used value by taking my pencil and using it to shade the character in different areas, I also used a method called blending that made the shading look like is was gradually going from light to dark and dark to light in some places, the transitioning I used from light to dark and vise versa, was noticeable in my artwork. I think that my art project is good because I took my time on it and tried as hard as I could to get it completed and looking nice.
